There is a plethora of great restaurants in Beziers. Here is a selection of five of our favourites, though in no particular order:
Les Caves de Madeleine – the first restaurant you come to on the left handside as you enter Place de Madeleine. This is our favourite eatery with excellent food at a reasonable price – including amuses bouche. One tip to remember is that the restaurant is actually open on Mondays when most other places are closed. Every 8th of the Month (except July and August, when the diners have a great view of the annual Son et Lumieres), there is an oyster festival with music, dancing and seafood. SPECIAL OFFER: Les Caves de Madeleine is offering free aperitifs to all our guests who eat with them. You will find special vouchers on the sideboard in the lounge. Just take one along when you go.
Cote Sud – By far the best value restaurant in town, behind Les Halles markets, great set menus and additional dishes. (21 Place Pierre Semard, 34500, Béziers France +33 4 67 28 85 46;.https://www.tripadvisor.fr/Restaurant_Review-g196600-d2420849-Reviews-Restaurant_Cote_Sud-Beziers_Herault_Occitanie.html )
Les Dames de Halles – Run by an amazing group of women, meals at Les Dames usually end up in a riotous party. A mixture of seafood with a choice of meat/fish cooked on stone.(13 Place Pierre Semard, 34500 Béziers +33 4 34 45 64 10; https://www.tripadvisor.fr/Restaurant_Review-g196600-d17468508-Reviews-Les_Dames_Des_Halles-Beziers_Herault_Occitanie.html
Les Bons Amis – A hearty selection of quality burgers and as well as meat and fish. The unpretentious, limited menu makes it a great value. 21 Pl. Pierre Semard, 34500 +33 4 67 28 85 46.https://www.tripadvisor.fr/Restaurant_Review-g196600-d2420849-Reviews-Restaurant_Cote_Sud-Beziers_Herault_Occitanie.html )
Pica Pica – Relatively new kid on the block, run by Former star chef of the Michelin-starred Octopus, it offers a French take, and a great view of the Place Jean Jaurès. Can be quite pricey though. (20 boulevard Jean Jaures, 34500, Beziers France +33 4 48 11 03 40; https://www.pica-pica.fr/)
Le Chameau Ivre – Also looking onto the Place Jean Jaurès and quite pricey though better quality for our money, “The Drunken Camel” can be difficult to book but offers and eclectic mix. (15 Place Jean Jaures, 34500, Béziers France +33 4 67 80 20 20; (https://www.facebook.com/LeChameauIvre/ )
Le Patio – As its name suggests the Patio has a large outdoor seating area which means it is incredibly popular during the summer. However the inside is pretty nice too and it’s got a good mid-range menu. (21 rue Francaise, 34500, Beziers; +33 4 67 49 09 45; http://www.restaurant-patio.fr)
Osakaya Restaurant Japonais – If you’re fed up of local cuisine and fancy a something a little different, you could do far worse than Beziers’ Japanese restaurant which offers some extraordinary sushi, including their foie gras speciality! (12 Av. Saint-Saëns, 34500 Béziers; tel. 04 67 62 52 60; https://www.chezosakaya.fr/
Les Halles – In 2024, the Les Halles market was completely refurbished by Biltoki, a Basque company which specialises in transforming traditional French and Spanish foodhalls. So, it’s less traditional than what you might like but does offer a few stalls, but mostly where you can pick and eat in situ.
